SAFETY AND COURTESY RULES OF THE PATRIOTIC SKI CLUB RACCOON HOLLOW CENTER HILL LAKE
  1. A slalom skier is entitled to four passes in his/her turn on the slalom course. This is two passes down and two passes down on the course or four consecutive passes on the jump.
  2. Always slow down to an idle speed at the sign as you enter the slalom-jump area.
  3. Always, and this is a must, start your slalom or jump run on the channel side of the sign. If you start from the back, there is no way for another boat to know you are back there. NEVER, NEVER, come into the hollow and go straight into the course or to the jump. Also, do not start from your houseboat. Everyone has to go to the sign and wait his/her turn (there is no leaving and coming back and saying that it is your turn).
  4. Since insurance is so high and safety is important, anyone caught letting nonmembers jump will be asked to forfeit their jump key to the club. Club members are required to sign a release in order to jump. Any member who allows a nonmember to jump becomes liable for any injury sustained on the jump by his/her "guest".
  5. Remember, club members have the priority to the course and the jump, but if a nonmember skier comes into the Hollow and uses the equipment, be PATIENT.
  6. WE DO NOT OWN RACCOON HOLLOW. Never have, never will. The Corps and the TWRA are very generous in letting us use the Hollow for our recreation. We cannot tell anyone to slow down, leave the course, not make waves, get out of the way, or stop going through the course. We cannot deny access to the course or jump to anyone. We can politely ask people to move out of the way, jOIN THE CLUB, or explain procedures of the course and jump. Remember, we do not own the Hollow. We were invited by the Corps and TWRA to ski there, and they can ask us to leave and take our junk with us. We don’t want this to happen, so DO NOT cuss people, and cause a "ruckus". OUR PERMITS ARE AT RISK!!!!!!
  7. Once a person has skied his/her turn, the boat goes to the end of the line to ski again. Each boat runs 4 passes - 2 up and 2 down. Everyone is welcome to ski in the boat, but only one person per pass. For instance, if john Doe came with jane, jim, and Sue Doe, then john may ski his four passes, then the boat goes to the end of the line. After everyone in front of the Doe boat skis, then jane may ski her 4 passes and so on.
