Yes, Madison, there is a Patriotic Ski Club!
And it is coming back strong in 2008! The venerable Patriotic Ski Club has had to survive a lot over the years. With drought, dam leaks and increasing gas prices, this last year was especially challenging. That is all water over the dam (or in the case of Center Hill Lake – under the dam). Now that spring is here I can’t help being optimistic that this is going to be a great summer for the revitalized Patriotic Ski Club of Center Hill Lake!
First thing on the list is to thank those of you that continue to support the club. Special thanks to Johnny and Susan Titshaw, Todd and Zach Jones, Freddie and Trey Snell, Bob McDow, Ed Jones and the others that worked so hard to maintain the slalom course last year. The course was something to be proud of club members last summer. The water level kept the backwash to a minimum and there was rarely a missing ball when we showed up on Saturday mornings.
The adaptive ski program is going strong thanks to Mike Sells and a team of loyal volunteers. This program is also something for all Patriotic Ski Club members to be proud of.
We also have to thank those of you that paid your dues! The club wouldn’t exist without paying members so please send your dues to Susan today. This will enable us to buy supplies and plan other events (did someone say party?) that will keep out club active and growing going though the season.
Please let me know what ideas you have for the club. It is after all, your club and it is important to hear from the members as to what we should be doing:
